Coping/Medications

Hi All, I'm new here and I've been reading many of the posts you have all done. I SUFFER from HH of the face and under arms. I'm feeling really helpless and feeling myself spiraling into depression because of this. I am a nursing student, and it's becoming impossible for me to function and perform my nursing duties.

I feel like I have literally tried EVERYTHING.. topical, pills, herbal, diet changes, so much deodorant/antiperspirant it makes my under arms kill...etc.

I have 2 questions....

First - how do you all cope with this seriously debilitating condition? Can any of you give me advice on how to just deal day by day with this condition without feeling so ridiculously self conscious?

Second - I have tried Propantheline, which helped reduce my sweating after 1 day. However, I must have had an adverse reaction - dizziness and unable to concentrate. Being a nursing student, this just doesn't fly for me. I am constantly busy, on the go, and having to study. I found that the first day I took Propantheline was physically debilitating, and all I could do was stay bed! Have any of you tried Propantheline with these effects, or tried Propantheline vs. Robinul and found Robinul to be different? I am afraid that if I try Robinul I will experience the same reaction.

Thanks all.

I've never tried Propantheline, but I'm on Robinul now for my HH. It works great in normal situations, but a high stress situation still makes me sweat a good deal. It's just not dripping any more.

I have HH of the palms. I cope with it by wiping my hands off on my pants before having to shake someones hand.
