Hi Brittany. I went to a community college. I got my AA there, then I transferred to my state university.
CC's are a good place to start, in my opinion. It worked for me, partly because it didn't require I leave home, which I wasn't ready for at the time. It can also save you money, allowing you to get your basic classes out of the way for a fraction of the price. So when you transfer you can focus on your major.
The thing that was kind of a shock to me was the disparity in quality of academics between MCC and UH, although I adjusted and am doing fine now. It's just less intense is all. But I guess that means CC's can ease you in to college in a more nurturing environment.
