Class Night Out

So it was the last day in my Russian class of about 20 people or so and the teacher arranged a night next week for the class to come out to the bar at the university. She's paying for what we order (except alcohol) and most of the class will show up no doubt. I'd like to go but the problem is I've never really talked to anyone in the class. We all know each other but every time I've gone to class I haven't ever talked much to anyone, they'd all talk amongst themselves though.

I'd really feel out of place there but I still wish I could go and fit in. The teacher has done outings like this before to a Russian restaurant but I never went and everyone always talked about how much fun it was later on in class. I just wish I could socialize like other people and go to things like this.

Just do it, if you feel uncomfortable tell them you have to leave early for work.

Yeah, that stuff sucks... when you feel obligated to do something, and even want to do it, but you'll know you won't fit and there's a good chance it'll be a disaster. I feel like this every time I go to a party. I say don't go to the bar because you even said you didn't really talk to anyone. You can take a chance, but you might even up feeling like shit afterwards. Sorry to be so negative, just weight the options and consider the likely results and then make a decision.
