First post, so i thought i would share my botox experience. Have suffered with Axillary Hyperhidrosis since puberty. I am now a 38 year old male. I have tried everything with varying results. Then i heard that botox was having some good results for this condition. So i made an appointment with a dermatologist in my area. The morning of the procedure started as any other. Had a shower, put on clean dry clothes and 20 minutes later my pits are wet. Was a little scared, as some people had said that it hurt quite a bit. The procedure lasted about 15 min. 25 injections into each armpit. Im not going to lie and say it didn't hurt, but the pain was bearable, and some injections hurt more than others, some i did not feel at all. Oh and by the way i do "not" have a high pain tollerence. My wife calls me a big baby when it comes to pain. To this day i still dont know how my wife gave birth to our daughter without any pain medication or epidurals. I would have asked to be put under. lol. Anyway, I had the procedure done on Monday, and it is now Thursday, and i am thoroughly pleased. Probably about a 95 percent reduction in sweat, and this started yesterday. As for the cost, well i guess im one of the lucky ones because my insurance covered it. Except for a 15 dollar co-pay for the prescription and a 20 dollar co-pay for the office visit. The actual cost for the botox would have been $746 dollars, and im not sure what the office visit would have cost. So it is not cheap. I have been lurking around this forum for quite a few years now, and i wish to say thank you for all who have written their experiences and offered their help. It is a wonderful forum, and a godsend for other sufferers out there, to know they are not alone. I will keep reading on this forum, and i will post a follow up to let you know how long it lasted.
Also if any one has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
WoW, to be dry at last. Hope it last a long time.
Take care.
And good luck to everyone looking for help.

If you have insurance, make an appointment with a dermatologist and find out if its covered. That's the only way i found out.
