Does anyone else have this embarrassing problem?

When I have to talk to someone I end up sounding like a baby or pulling childish faces.

Today this lady came to inspect our working conditions and she asked me why I wasn't using the footrest and I said I didn't want to use it in a baby voice and everyone stared at me with a smirk, then she kept asking me the same question and I just kept saying the same thing, and she asked if I thought she was an idiot......ahem, my face is burning
