Hi,

First timer with some questions regarding ionto machines. A little background first.

Suffer from mild palmar and plantar but do also experience all over especially in stressful situations. Have also experience of anxiety and depression - I do not know if these are symptomatic of HH or were always underlying. I can't really recall first occurence but I am sure it was in teens.

When in social situations I feel like I am burning up, hands and feet get wet and to a degree all over as well.

Doctor has said it is HH but I am never quite sure as other factors as stated are involved. I don't drip but have constant clamminess and when I put on shoes my socks are done for. My shoes also have a short lifespan.

Have tried Driclor& Anhydrol Forte ( both irritate and no use on hands and feet ). Consultant at hospital reccommended ionto, so I purchased Drionic machine that worked once but never again for me ( I think it will take a trip to Ebay ).

This condition has led to me leaving jobs ( one just recently ), affected relationships and has made me a virtual recluse at times.

I am considering purchasing a new ionto machine ( although I am never truly sure it will work for me ) despite finding myself jobless. I unfortunately do not have the knowledge or skill to modify my drionic or build my own as seen on youtube.

1. Which is the best out of Idrostar, I2ma ( although probs out of price range ) and Idromed 5? Please be detailed if possible

2. I also am known for constantly having colds and wonder if the constant sweating and heating up of body plays a part in this.

3. Has anyone ever tried Yoga as an aid ( most likely for those who also suffer anxiety also )?

4. Does any one know any specific make/brand of shoes ( smart and trainers etc ) and socks that are helpful?

I will leave it here for now and I apologise for this novella but it feels like the first time I have been able to open up ( talking to doctor and consultant was like the proverbial brick wall )

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Pinker.

I am in Scotland. Was seriously considering the Idromed 5 over the Idrostar as I believe no batteries are involved. But £330 for something that may not work is costly.

see if you can get a cheap idromed 4. I don't know what the difference is between the 4 and 5. These are good machines. Drionic=rubbish, nuff said

I'll look into that HH.

According to the company they have been discontinued. Just sounds like another excuse to add about £100 onto price of Idromed 4.

Pinker,

I emailed STD and they told me that the Idrostar would cost £296. I was informed that I would be exempt from VAT as I had a letter from my doctor explaining I had the condition.

Unfortunately I was told Ionto was not available in my area which leads me to believe that I would not be able to receive the deduction.

I will contact the consultant again, that I saw at the hospital. But it seems I knew more than him at times regarding machines.

Could anyone say if a specific form ( name / number if known please ) / letter was reqd to get this money off.

Thanks
