Are Your Panic Attacks Related to Bullying?

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to find out how many people who suffer from panic or anxiety attacks also suffer from bullying.
Are panic attacks something that you had before or have they been triggered by the bullying?

If you are suffering from panic attacks I've put together a page here:
http://www.overcomebullying.org/obofortl-panic-attacks.html

If you would like to contact me directly I'd love to hear from you about your experience with panic attacks or about the page above.

Here's the link to the contact page at OvercomeBullying.org:

All the Best,

Dear Radyx,
I've had a rough childhood with sexual, mental and physical abuse
by loved ones, friends and strangers
and i think it helped worsen my panic attacks

Hi UniqueMoyo,

I would be surprised if panic attacks ever really happened in isolation. It seems experiences like yours or of those targeted by bullies violates our sense of dignity and ability to trust others. I feel this serves to sensitize us to similar situations in the future that can trigger anxiety and ultimately panic attacks.

I suppose it takes time and the opportunity to learn to be able to trust again - if not others at least to trust our own ability to deal with situations. While we can't control the rest of the world we can learn techniques to regain control of our own internal reactions.

All the Best,

Anton
