Hello everyone. I wish I’d discovered this place before I started using the stuff but oh well! I’ve done a bit of a summary of my usage which turns out longer than I intended; the questions I have are in the bottom 5 paragraphs if you haven’t got time lol
So I started using the stuff to treat my palmar hyperhidrosis about September/ October last year. I didn't use it for the full fortnight recommended though, I think it was 10 days max. I then became very determined to lose weight, and this involved me doing a lot of weights and naturally my hands got sweaty again. I then used it again at the start of December, only for a few days though that time as the bottle ran out. On each of these occasions I used it the results were good; I had no sweating the majority of the time of not touching something, and when I did touch something there wasn't really much sweating, more clammyness really, which varied in degree.
Last Wednesday I started using it again. I've since applied it for the past 5 nights in a row and there is considerable improvement. My hands are once again dry the majority of the time when I'm not making contact with anything. I can also now hold my sky remote for 2 or 3 minutes and not a single sweat mark will appear on the remote, I can't remember the last time that happened! However, after a few hours of them being dry and soft straight after I take the residue off in the morning, when I get up properly and go about my day they are clammy to varying degrees when I touch anything for longer than a second or two. They aren't as sweaty (in the worst cases) as when I touched stuff prior to using the stuff though, so basically I think overall it is working.
Currently though the weather is pretty cold around my neck of the woods, which means my hands are cold the majority of the time as they are out in the open a lot. I'm concerned that this may be why my hands are dry the majority of the time of not touching anything; when the weather starts to warm up they will become sweaty again Although the weather was considerably warmer the very first time I used it so I guess my anxiety (which I think is the cause of my problems) is kicking in.
The question I have is concerning when I apply it before I go to bed. After I have done so I have not covered them up these past 5 nights, and have left them out in the cold air. I got the idea that this was the best way as it was letting the air get to it so it will make it work better. I have been careful not to touch any material etc in bed though, they are out the side of the duvet.
I've read today though that some people cover their hands up with rubber gloves so as to make sure none of the substance touches material. Would this not make the hands sweat with them being covered up, and I assume under the duvet etc as well? I did some research but haven’t been able to find anything.
If I put the rubber gloves on would it be best to keep them out of the duvet as I have been doing or won't it matter?
Also, in the morning when my hands are dry, I have been rinsing my hands under the hot water tap to get the residue off my hands, then applying some squirty soap and rinsing it off again with hot water. Would results be better if I:
1. Just applied some skin lotion to the dry skin and not rinse off the residue?
2. Used cold water instead of hot if I do rinse off? and
3. If I just rinsed off the residue then not applied soap and just put lotion on instead?
Thank you for your time
