Here's a rant for you.
Im doing my NA1 clinicals right now, and I'm in a group with 5 other girls. One of the girls, Janis, is such a pain in the ass. She's a loud mouth, she is constantly talking, she's bossy, she's critical, and she's dumb as a stump. Nobody likes Janice.
But she's not the problem. These other two girls are. One insists she has general anxiety disorder, and the other one has SAD, or so they claim. They both seem like perfectly normal, scocially competent hoe-bags to me. Neither one of them has any problems talking, arguing with other people, or even being shy, as far as I've seen. And I've seen them everyday for almost 11 weeks. Im not saying they're FAKING IT, but I am saying that their problems dont seem to hinder them much in this class.
Here's what burns me up. Nobody wants to get paired with Janice. It sucks, it's stressfull, but it's got to be done. Those other girls though, THEY went and whined to the teacher about how 'crippling' their anxiety is, and how working with Janice is just sooooo hard for them, and how the poor dears just caaaant bare to be paired with Janice, and that they want to be paired up together every-single-day of clinical or they just dont think they can make it. And what do you know, the teacher let them have their way. Instead of rotating being partenered with Janice fairly, so everyone would only have to spend one day a week with her, it got cut down to three girls, then two, since Janice and another girl already got in an argument. Now me and the last girl have to trade her off every other day.
Now, that's just not fair! I'm one weekly trip to the gas station away from being a Boo Radley-level recluse, and I'm not asking for any special treatment that would make others suffer. I tried (note, *tried*) to talk to them about it, but one of them just lauphed in my face and said, "Sucks for you!"
The whole thing just really irritates me. It's not that I have to get stuck with Janice for 7 hours a day, 3 days a week, it's that SAD is a real problem that makes a lot of people suffer, and it's something that takes alot of courage to live with, and these girls are just jumping on the band wagon and taking advantage.
End rant.
