Hi All,

Wow, I cant believe its taken me this long to find a site like this and similar ones to talk about what I am sure many of us never knew we had, Hyperhydrosis!!!!

Like the majority of others I have been to my Doctors explained the situation, they said drink more I said I cant I drink well more than the recomended then they discussed anxiety I said how can it be anxiety in a winters night at home on my own!!!!? Had blood tests twice and fully healthy, slightly but no massivly overwieght....

I defo understand the cases people say about the cycle thou, the embarrassment of sweating makes u sweat more and anxious that your sweating. Its so unfair. Basically my worst areas are face big time, back, feet and hands. I wear a hat all the time to cover the sweat but I know thats worse cos it keeps the heat in and I look stupid with a hat on all the time.

So I have been on pharmacy.ca ordered Avert, Secure Wipes and Hydragel and also ordered facesaver. I will try anything......

I hope this works, it will give me back my independance without worry of how much I am going to sweat. I have so much sympathy for others in this situation......

Ya there are a few options. First things first, read as many of the pages on here as you can.

Start with the basics. Get the high strength anti perspirants. Use those on your underarms, if that's a high sweat area. Try it on the rest of your body, like back of neck, but chances are it will be extremely painfull when you sweat, so you'll have to abandon that option. Then there's that iono treatment where you put your hands in some machine. After that, try botox for your hands, feet, underarms, or scalp. After that it's anticholinergic medication. It will make life more manageable.

hope that helps

Hi,

Also, don't just stick to one treatment, try a combination. Ionto every other day then antiperspirants every other day in between works well for me. Just remember, if you ever have any questions or worries about a treatment, there's a good chance someone on here has tried it. :)
