1st time at the doctor

Well, I cried like a little baby today in front of my G.P. It was the first time I met him too. He was so nice and talked with me for an entire hour. I've never had a doctor spend that much time with me before! He must have felt really sorry for me. Anyway, he prescribed Paxil-CR for me. He was undecided between that or Effexor-XR. He said they work about the same but usually one or the other work with most people. So I'll take my first pill tongiht and see what happens. If bad side effects occur within the next two weeks, I'll talk to him about Effexor-XR.

Kava kava helped me get back into the world. It helped get me the job I'm at right now...which is completely necessary for my survival. I owe a lot to Kava but I want to really thrive. I want to be more sociable and happier than I've ever been before. So, I'll give Paxil a shot. Also, I'll soon be going to a psychologist for CBT. I'm so excited about all of this. Things are looking up. I have a lot of hope ahead of me. I'm going to write my doctor a thank you note tonight. I'll keep you posted on how I'm coming along.

Who's on Paxil here? How's it affected your life?

I ordered kava tea from Hawaii a few years back...it was legal in Canada then. I could barely keep it down, nasty stuff...I'd recommend hiding it in a burrito or something, or maybe adding chocolate sauce and whip cream...yuk!
I did manage to find some in Canada, tonight actually, two blocks from my house.
I took 6, 150mg kavalactone pills (1000mg root extract per pill) which are standardized to 30%. Aside from grouse Kava burps I had earlier, two hours after initial ingestion, I feel calmer and more relaxed.
As an experiment I will take some before my next anxiety meeting (where we speak in front of a group) and see if it makes a difference :)
Ahem, excuse me now, I'm going to finish this bottle, head downtown, and hit on some hot chicks at the bar ;)
Oh, btw, I picked up the little gems at GNC. They ripped me off...a bottle of 60 of the previously stated was 30 bucks...I found a place in the states online selling for under $10. Guess I'll be making a trip to the States soon ;)

about kava

Yeah, you can find a 3.5 oz powdered container of kava for around $10. I found mine on vitanet.com but they sell it on other sites as well. It totally tastes like shit, but you can mix it with other juices. I got so used to it, I just mixed it with water...a couple tablespoons. It doesn't mix well so you have to mix or shake it before every swallow. The South Pacific islanders use it to get drunk. Yeah, there was some cases of liver damage but it was never proved to be totally because of kava. These people were on there meds too. They do say though if you drink too much you can turn yellow. I have consumed 9 tablespoons in one day and nothing happened to me. Nothing is a miracle. Some days certain cruches just seem like it. We all need a crutch from time to time.
