Stanger Bath aka Hydro Electric Bath aka Giant Iontophoresis

Hello Everyone,

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been in Germany. While in Germany I have come across several possible treatments for HH and will be making posts for each one.

Firstly, Stanger Bath aka Hydro Electric Bath

What is it?: Basically a giant bath tub that is also an ionto machine! Which means not only can you stop the sweating on your feet, hands, and armpits but everywhere below your neck! Imagine, treating that whole area in 20 mins just once a week! I am thinking about making an appointment to try a machine here in germany!

More info:

Another potential means of treating generalised hyperhidrosis is Stanger baths. These are hydroelectric baths that administer low-voltage direct current and are used for such conditions as rheumatic diseases or nerve pain. Like tap water iontophoresis, Stanger baths have been used successfully for some of our patients with generalised idiopathic hyperhidrosis [5].

What do you all think? Anyone tried this?

Sweet and scary at the same time...Especially since it's in Germany and with that distinct 70s color scheme...Is this in the former sowiet republic of Germany? *shivers*

But...Big kudos if you want to try it...Personally I'm thinking that it could potentially be quite uncomfortable for certain regions of the body -yikes- considering how a simple ionto device is already not very nice in areas of cuts and bruises...soft tissue...but maybe this is a Alternating Current System?

Side note; interestingly this does seem to support my thinking that HH is some kind of neurologic inflammation though, since they link it to rheuma and stuff. I hope new anti-inflammatory meds like CGRP blockers may help in the future (I've already talked about this a couple of times, if they do hit the market next year I'll definitely try them). In my family with quite a few cousins here and there I'm the only one with an HH problem...but some have been afflicted by child rheuma and other auto immune diseases...

That last bit sounds a bit dodgy maybe, but no, I don't live in a place where all the people in the village are related...:D

Btw; good find...

This is scary. Imagine how much facial sweating you would have after this treatment, all perspiration moving up there?!

If the doctor's come up with this ambitious project, why the hell can they not invent a pill to decrease the body temperature with some 0.5 degrees.

Good find though, thanks.

They say it doesn't hurt, perhaps because it is on such a low voltage. Which would mean we would need to stay in there longer... Anyone want to try it as well? Pretty please? lol!

I use a multi combative approach. I built myself up on Ionto so that I only do my hands and feet 20mins each once a week using a water and glyco based solution (the glyco really helps, just dissolve 1mg in each tub). I then use a maximum strength deodorant and take the sage tablets 2 ppls either once or twice a day. My sweating has improved soo much on this regimen!
