Ritalin?

Hi, My Psychiatrist recently prescribed me Ritalin to combat my ADD. He says that the ADD can cause a host of negative mental issues, so my social anxiety and depression could be linked to that. Does anybody know if Ritalin is any good in handling social anxiety?

It CAN be. Back in the day I took Adderall (same type of drug as ritalin). I noticed it helped me be more positive, therefore not being afraid to speak out, but yet it had negative effects on my GENERALIZED anxiety. I then had to stop taking it. BTW, you can try L-Tyrosine for ADD also. It's much safer but has to be taken on an empty stomach.

I took adderall xr and it turned me into a zombie. 3 weeks ago i couldnt take the negative effects of adderall anymore and stopped and its been a living hell ever since. I don't want to say i was addicted to it because i never abused it but i did form a dependence. its been almost 4 weeks and im still haveing withdraws.... My arms shake, i have bad headaches, and have been very depressed. I think i was taking to high of a dose, im 6' 2" and weigh 170 lbs, and i took 80 milligrams a day.

Both Ritalin and Adderall XR work great for my anxiety. The make me more sociable and generally more happy.
