I spent a year in Paxil hell before gaining the courage to demand I be weaned off them.
I realize that medications work differently for everyone, but I've heard a LOT of complaints regarding Paxil, and speaking from personal experience - that drug is poison.
That being said, I encourage you to PLEASE don't stop taking it cold turkey! No matter how long you've been on it, it is best to very slowly wean yourself off the drug, so as not to cause too great a shock to your system. The withdrawal will not be pleasant, but rest assured that you won't lose your mind, nor will you feel that gross forever.
At this present time I am taking the lowest possible dosage of Effexor XR on a daily basis, and it has been a miracle drug for me.
