hey guys,
i started getting panic attacks about a year ago. I am wondering if there is anybody else out there who finds that they experience it more in the morning, first thing after waking up? Also, when I drive, i feel like I am so trapped....
Any tips and responsed would help..
Thanks!

Yeah I wake up most mornings feeling a horrible panic. I find the best thing for me is to get straight out of bed, make coffee (decaffinated) and put some music on. I feel if I just get on and do things I forget about how I am feeling. The worst thing I can do is lay in bed, I start to feel suffocated. I don't have this problem when driving, but I would recommend music again, as it will serve as a distraction.

Hope this helps. :)

Ooh, I used to get panic attacks. I feel your pain there.

Best thing I ever did: Learn to let them go. Even if it seems impossible at first, let them consume your body, restrict your breathing, make you shiver... whatever your specific effects are. Let the panic in with no resistance. In a sense, resistance = panic. And the more you resist or try to push it away, the worse you make it for yourself.

So next time, try wholeheartedly going TOWARD what you're afraid of in small steps, and see what you come up with. It worked for me :)

Well Ive been suffering from these for yrs so bad sometimes I pullover and get out of car because Im so nervous. Overcome with breathing techniques small breather count to tell inhale slowly backwards 10-0 let out slowly after few times heart race will slow down and oxygen levels increase again to take that uncomfortable feeling away. My legs get jelly feeling like not there when i get attack driving sometimes and now heights bother me.
