ORS or plantar hyperhidrosis

Hello Everyone,

I think I recently developed a case of either plantar hyperhidrosis or ORS and would like you to help me figure out which one is the likeliest.

My feet sweat but not much. When I walk outside I tend to notice a strong hideous smell like cat urine that seems like emanating from my feet.
However when I smell my socks and shoes there is no such smell, is this possible or am I halluscinating?

I have also been apprehending every social contact in fear of being embarrassed and ostracized.

Whenever someone coughs, looks at my shoes and what not I think the person is smelling the ammonia like odor and is thus annoyed by my presence.

As a consequence, I have been isolating myself as much as possible to prevent any potential humiliation.

I bought two shoes, tons of socks and every imaginable pharmaceutical product to fight against foot odor, numerous baths but to no avail. The smell reappears instantly. I cannot attend lectures anymore or even attend a social outing and feel bound to my room :(.

Is it possible that the shoes and socks don't smell and at the same time I can smell a hideous odor when going for walks or even lying in bed barefoot?
If not, then I must probably be suffering from Olfactory Reference Syndrome?

I will be having blood tests soon to rule out the causes of such an ordeal.

I am suffering so much, please help me.

Hola!

I had feet bromhidrosis caused by bacterial overgrown, now it's under control thanks to fusidic acid cream, clorhexidina soap and levofloxacin. Here are more details:

levofloxacin is not indicated for people with liver or kidney illness, and since your sweat smell like ammonia maybe your kidneys aren't working well

But you tried everything even antibiotic treatments, I guess. Perhaps your guts are weak after taking such drugs? maybe FODMAP diet can help:

FODMAPS diet as promised (long) at Body Odor Support Forum (MessageID: 1838664)

regarding the lack of odor in your socks, it also happened to me, it's such a volatile stink, it disappeared when the shoes/socks started to dry.
family and friends sometimes don't have the heart to say the truth but when you go outside you can confirm the smell is real because of shocked faces of people around you. You can even get yourself in a confined environment, like a public bus, and the smell would fill the room in seconds, that's a very consistent way to check it out.

I'd like to express myself better but my English is very limited ... bromhidrosis is a painful, debilitating condition, I know how your soul is suffering.
