Nausea Panic Attack...

Whenever I have a panic attack I get really nauseous and that is my only symptom. It comes on so quick. It usually happens whenever I am really nervous its like I get nervous just like everyone else would but mine intensifies. Sometimes it is so bad I get sick from the nausea otherwise I calm down within 10 mins or so. But if I do get sick, I can go back into that same situation that made me panic and I am fine. Can anyone relate? I have done research and my situation seems to be unique. All my anxiety goes straight to my stomach.

That pretty much describes the only panic attack i've had in my life. Ironically it was for a SA study :? Only hiccup was that it required me having a needle in me for 3 hours straight on two occassions 8O

I *hate* needles, but I decided to give it ago anyway.

First time round, about 30mins from the end I had stopped reading my book, I was feeling good and calm. I put it down but it was out of my reach :( I started to sweat and heart increased rapidly, so i tried to grab it but I couldn't and really quickly (within a minute) I was sweating like crazy and felt violently sick.

The nurse walked back in at the height of it, just as I retched - stuff came up but I held it in and swallowed. Then within 2-3 minutes I was back 100% to normal, needle out and I left fine.... Whole thing took less than 10mins easily.

Second time I was real nervous but fine, looked away read books kept my mind away from it. Made real sure I could always reach my book.

Never had anything like it before, or since - thankfully. Damn it was horrible.

I'm the same

Hey,
I am 17 years old and I have had panic attacks since I was 12. I am the same. It starts off with me feeling nauseas, and the feeling just increases. My heart gets faster, I cannot breath properly, and I just wanna get away from where I am aand out into the fresh air. Unless of course I am already outside.

I have never actually vomited, but I think that this feeling of nausea is worse than actually being sick!

I am on medication, which Is about to be increased. I am writing this from home, as I had a panic attack this morning and was unable to attend school. This really worries me, because I am in yr 12 next year and I have already missed a lot of school...

Just writing this, and hearing that there are many others out there who are the same is a good thing to me. I thought that I was the only one who felt really sick. Every1 else just panicked.

Thankyou, please reply.

I am sometimes physically sick with anxiety attacks. I first had them during my pregnancy so thougth it was just morning sickness but whenever I've been really bad since (as I have PND not Social Phobia and panic attacks are a large part of it) I am always either actually sick or feel like I am going to be. It's a bit like stage fright I suppose (-:

i suffered from the exact same problem. It started with meetings, i would start feeling sick and it would build up and up until i was sure i was gonna barf. But i never did, i had to get out of there though. My nausea at its worse meant i couldnt travel in cars, buses, go into shops for any length of time. Even leaving the house was horrible.

that was two years ago now and ventalafaxine is a miracle drug. I rarely get sick feeling , once in a blue moon thank god. At the time though over about 8 months i was conviced i was dying. ha ha, seems kinda funny now.

so it does go away

im new by the way how you all doin

I get that way some times. It's usually when things are important that you can't fail. That you get soo worked up, that you make yourself sick. Sometimes you make yourself sick so you can use that as a scapegoat. When getting that worked up try to maintain being calm. Remember to take deep full and slow breaths. In thru and out your nose. For a 5 count. To try and regain your exposure. Then I usually run around naked. that also helps me relax. :p

I also suffer from this same thing and am finding out its more common then i thought. Mine started from a traumatic experince i had in 3rd grade (that i still remember clearly at age 30) that left me with a phobia of being sick. I had never thrown up till i was around the age of 20 when i was stupid and took some vitamins before going to work on an empty stomach and it made me sick at work.

From that day on i have had panic attacks that throw me right into my phobia (being sick) making it hard to even go to Walmart without making sure im starving myself before i go.

Ive tried Effexor (did nothing for me cept give me nasty side effects) hypnotherepy and some tapes to no avail. I know how bad this sucks and wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.
