I've been meditating every day for a little while now, and it helps me put things into perspective. It allows me to take a step outside of my mind and to look at things rationally. When you're feeling anxious in a social situation, it's tough to rationally look at the situation, because fear distorts everything.

Meditation is very beneficial, both mentally and physically. A quick google search can show you that.

It has been helping me with anxiety, and hopefully it can help some of you too.
