Hi guys, well recently I had to do a research paper in psychology and chose Social anxiety as my topic because I possibly have it as well.

This paper is due in two days, so I appreciate any one who volunteers! :D

1) First I like to know when and how you got social anxiety to begin with, were you born with it or did it just suddenly appeared during a certain time in your time.

2) How have SA affected your life?

3) Have you done anything to overcome this fear of social anxiety? If so, how?

If you have thing else you like to add to the interview, please do so. The more info the better.

Also if you can leave your real name for my source that be great, if you like to leave it anonymous that okay too.

AGAIN THANK YOU for taking your time to help a student. You've done a great deed. :)

1) I was a normal kid until I had a bad experience when I was young.

2)It has affected every part of my life.

3)I'm tired of social anxiety ruining my life and have decided to take action by making goals and taking baby steps toward them.

1.)I think that i have always had it.. as far back as i can remember i would get anxiety when meeting new people or going places i've never been. I think it certainly got worse at a point in my life when i moved away from home and went to college.

2.) SA has effected my life in every way possible. It is an major part of what makes me.. me. I do things to avoid anxiety all day long.. almost every decision i make is based around the fact that i am trying to avoid a situation that would give me anxiety. As a result i have very limited experience with women, work, friends and so on. It holds me back from going forward in life because if i just stay at home and don't talk to anyone i won't get the disabling anxiety.. however it does make me depressed.

3.) The biggest thing that i have done is getting a job funny enough. It has actually helped me more than anything. Being that i don't like to talk on the phone i haven't gone to the doctor in years.. so i haven't really got any treatment for my SA. reading about it has helped a little and reading the experiences of other has helped too. makes you feel a little more normal.

I'd rather not leave my real name.. but I'm a 24 year old Male. I have a BSc in Psychology if you'd like to ask me any questions about your paper ;)

1) I have had SA all my life or at least for as long as I can remember. I did some self hypnosis a while ago and when I did this I remembered that when I was really young, I was drawing with chalk on the street and a group of people/older children started yelling at me. (probably for drawing of the streets. )
I still don’t know if this really happened or if it's just my imagination. Does anyone have any feedback on this? But if it really happened then that’s where my SA began. It does seem logical because my SA consists mostly of fear of groups.

2) It has affected my life in that I never had many friends, I have never had a girlfriend and after I finished high school I screwed up a couple of schools by never attending classes. (because of my SA)

3) Until recently I never even dared to tell anyone that I had SA because I was afraid they would think I am some kind of loser. So I have never done anything against my SA until I started CBT a couple of months ago.
