Hi there,
Sounds like you have some obsessive thinking, doubting and have started to use rituals to reduce your anxiety- classic OCD behavior. There are many on-line quizzes you can take that might help you see if you and your Dr. need to look into it more. OCD really is measured in degrees that it impacts your life, and the time you spend doing your rituals. I have had OCD since I was 12 years old- I'm 50 now- there have been times where it has been really all consuming and times where it was more on the back burners- directly related to other stress I was under-relationships being a big one. There are some good books out there to see if you relate to the symptoms others have. "The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Washing" is a collection of stories from people with OCD and it really shows how many different faces OCD can have. By the way, although I was on medication in the past for about 2 years, this isn't always necessary with less consuming OCD. I hope you find your answers.Take care.

Thank you for the response!
The rituals thing is a bit weird, because I KNOW that the "fates" that I try to appease by knocking on wood are not real, but I am too scared of bad things happening to stop the ritual. It doesn't have a huge impact on my life, although it takes me a bit longer to walk places because I have to knock on every nearby tree and telephone pole. I will look in to that book too.
