Hi,

I have to admit I've no real interests. I don't count sitting on the net, obviously.

Do you have similarily? :?:

I've read on some other forum as well, that this is pretty typical with the SA (and due to it). It can be depression-related.

What to do - how can I find some interests or hobbies? Will the treatment cause that I'll get some?

Aha, it's not due to possible lack of my intelligence   , as someone could maybe think. I go pretty well at school results, although any non-obligatory activity is very boring for me... :(

Cheers to you!

I'm the same way. We are talking about being emotionally blunt?

Long term use of medications did it for me. I am going to a neurologist about it tommorrow and see what they say. If nothing gets resolved then I'm going on ADHD meds, because I heard they can fix this slightly.

Also, if you are taking anti-depressants, Effexor is a stimulator.

My advice is to get on a stimulant and take out some books on self confidence right away!!! Also, you might be experiencing schizophrenia. A lot of people are saying that B12 supplements are waking them up. Give them a chance.

I advise a walk around the neihborhood. Try and clear maybe a half an hour out of your schedule to just sit on your porch and listen to nature. It really helps to releive stress. When your outside, you should forget the troubles of your life. I also advise trying to avoid any online games or anything that might cause you to be even more anti-social. Th way I see it, SA is all in your head. It's not an actual disease. I have here a list of possible hobbies to take up to give your life some new meaning.

1. A musical instrument. I took up guitar after deciding my SA was all in my head.

2. Finding.collecting music that makes you feel good. I am a classic rock fan.

3. Join a church/group that'll accept you unconditionally. I used to be convinced that I was a loser by some of the girls who attended my school. After joining my church I am one of the most active youth members and I love all the new friends I have.

Hobbies and friends really do make a diffrence man. I suggest you try some of the ideas I listed and I'm sure it'll help. And don't be afraid to be yourself. Cause if one prson hates you then hey, who the fuck cares? lol.

Hi,

I can't understand why most music really gets me feeling depressed and worse than I do already. Why is this?

Some music can be both beautiful and addicting but at the same time it depresses you. I find that alot of soundtracks and jazz do this. I try and keep my music on the upbeat side to prevent depression. I suggest you try this as well. See how it works out for you. Try some weird al or something that (if anything) brings a smile to your face.

You've got too much rubbish in your mind to have time for any 'fun' activities. Your anxiety takes up A LOT of space in your mind, so you tend not to care about other stuff.

I hope I'll more easily get some new interests or so, when I start some drug treatment. But I've read as well, that it can make them even more weak...

I see people lot complain about identity crisis after drug treatment.

I feel the same. + lose of interests (Hm, it is pretty much natural to lose your interests when u are not so sure who you are, huh?). I have heard that it can lead to shizophrenia. Is it fuckin truth? For example, i cant form attitude on anything (I used to be very consistent earlier). And being a hot reactor , it is pretty idiotic because my head is a total of a mess. I can switch attitudes and emotions so often , it is only good because mostly
remember of them so it isnt yet so bad but dont know what to do. My advice is careful with medicines. I really think that concerning SA and SP (And Bipolar , which is a state that goes hand with hand with SP) doctors really dont know much, dont understand it. What they eventually can fix , is SA consequences like neurosis, general anxiety (Which i have though), anger. Or they can give u advice to change a haircut , that someone here was given  I remember one told me that i m unsatisfied because i m not changing anything (How smart and Pathetic, i really didnt know that)

Then if you are doing nothing...Just think of something that would interest you...And even you are not good at it Marvolo, it doesn't mean that you can't engage yourself in that....Try to get along and enjoy it....Just think positive all the time....Life is too short, don't waste it.

Do you actually appreciate music in any way? you must have some form or recognising what's good for YOU to like, so surely it's possible.

It wouldn't mean having to learn an instrument, that takes hours of dedication which some people aren't up to, it isn't even fun learning at first. But just listen to music, it basically saved my life. But only once i started to listen. Before, i really didn't have a clue what was out there, all i knew was bits of people's conversations and the obvious popular bands/artists.

Theres got to be something that would interest you, music is amazing when you get into your right genres.

Many people think like this, so i will not mince my words, i'll get to the point:

What you feel in these times is not confidence.

What you experience is in fact a temporary reduction of anxiety due to a state of anger in your mind, thats all.

Many people mistakenly believe that they need to be angry or aggressive to be seen or act confidently. This is utter non sense. This actually makes things worse in the long run because it becomes a side effect of anxiety that deceives us even further. Further from being confident, we learn to become cold, unapproachable and disconnected, so this is not confidence.

Confidence in your self is simply this:

Relating to your true nature. Negative thoughts and states of mind are not who we are, so we stop relating to ourself in this way. When we relate to our real pure nature which is our inner peace, we start to 'know' our real self. This confidence we think we have in our self manifested as anger is a lack of understanding our self.

You care less about what people think because you are simply angry. You cease to care. This is not confidence. Real confidence in ourself is rooted in love for others.

On the flip side however, you can transform your anger in overcoming your agoraphobia and SA by getting angry with your negative states of mind which rob you from having real confidence. Then, anger transforms into positive energy which functions to release you from your anxiety. This is directly accomplished by generating the determination not to relate to your negative states of mind. Then gradually you become more naturally confident, peaceful, centred, in control.

Well, if "pissed off" means "very angry" - I'm not sure if it does, I didn't found it in the dictionary  - than maybe so do I. But I'm frustrated more often than angry...

But, when frustrated, I feel less anxiety symptoms as well. And when really not "slept" - after having not good sleep - too. Maybe it's some relation, maybe not, who knows.

Cheers!
