How do I meet people in class?

I would like to make friends in lectures and classes, but I have been unsuccessful so far. Although at the start of the year almost everyone was pretty much alone, now it seems like everyone has a group of friends and there are no 'loners' like me. I tried a couple times to meet people. Once, I started talking to someone next to me when their bunch of friends showed up and sat all around so they just ignored me then. When I tried talking with someone else, he was nice but after that day whenever I saw him again he just ignored me like we'd never met. Another time I just straight up introduced myself to a girl next to me and she introduced herself but gave me the stink eye like "get away from me wierdo". I pretty much lost the courage to start talking to people in class after that.

Any tips from anyone on how to make friends in class or just at college in general in guess? How to meet/where to sit to meet other 'loners'? How to strike up a conversation? Make a good first impression? How to make it so other people want to talk to you?

bro your going to talk to 100 people maybe 200 people and out of those 200 people you will be lucky to find 1 trustworthy, friendly, intelligent, good hearted friend

pretty much finding somebody to be your friend and I mean FRIEND not some random you hang out and talk to is very rare but once you do all those other people you had to talk to and the journey you had to go through to find that ONE FRIEND will be worth it


also that get away from me weirdo feeling you get people give you is because of your own insecurities imo UNLESS you did do something weird like " HI MY NAME IS SILENT I LIKE WALRUS "
