Getting out to vote???

(Sry to repost, but just moving this to the Canada forum. )

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Hope you all had a good holiday.

With one day left before the Canadian elections, I was just wondering if anyone's SP will be keeping them away from the voting tomorrow? The question is open to everyone, everywhere: Does SP discourage you for voting? Any experiences you care to share?

I'm already getting a little jumpy at the possibility of a crowd or being so nervous that I vote for the wrong candidate and too embarrassed to ask for a new ballet, just add to the stack of avoidable mistakes unavoided because I was too scare to admit a mistake . But to hell with that thinking damn it. I'm definitely gonna go. Hope everyone else does too.

PEACE

Even though im not comfortable going to vote, I will be voting tomorrow. People fought to give us the right to vote and I feel we should exercise that right even if it makes us uncomfortable doing it.

P.S. Don't let the Conservatives win!

I'm lucky that I was able to vote at a potentially quiet time (9:30am) and the place was really close to my house... plus I've done it a few times and it only takes about 2 minutes- so everyone must try to go!!!

I voted!!! In spite of SA, I'm too political to stay away (and, you get to hide behind those gorgeous voting booths for a while). Thank goodness for the secret ballot, eh? Imagine if we were still doing it the original way, just raising a hand in public for the party we wanted. We'd loose the SA vote altogether!!!

Not too excited about the result, but that's another issue...[/i]

OMG! still-in-my-shell, rarely do people in this neck of the woods agree with me on that!

I'm from Alberta-

Ayla-
I know! We are in the serious minority of Albertans!! I showed up at work and everyone seemed a little pleased with the election- I thought I might be from a different planet.

PS- did you guys see the clip of Harper walking his kids to school and then giving them a firm handshake goodbye? A handshake!!

SilentOutlaw,

Seeing the Conservative politics now, i gotta agree with you. Harper is probably a tool that is representing Alberta`s natural resource industry`s interests, unfortunatelly.
