Excessive Night Sweating! Help!!!!

Help! I suffer from what I consider to be excessive night sweating. Most often this occurs after I have had a few drinks (anywhere from 3 to 8 beers or mixed drinks). This however doesn't occur every time I drink and it is so random and hard to predict that I am constantly thinking about it. I can’t get it out of my mind! Anytime I am considering staying the night out at a friend’s house to avoid driving home while intoxicated I panic about the possibility of an unexpected night sweat. I am 20 years old and from what I can remember this has been going on since I was 18. It however seems to just now be increasing in frequency not that I am drinking any more now than I was then. Please help me figure out how to avoid these without altering my lifestyle to much, I do like to go out and have a few drinks with friends.

What usually happens is that I wake up on whatever side I was sleeping on dripping in sweat usually from my shoulders to my thighs. The sweat is so bad it could be compared to being dunked in a pool. This usually also means that the bed is soaked along with the sheets and whatever I was wearing.

If anyone has any good advice I would really appreciate you sharing it with me, even if it’s just a good way to way to warn friends and others that im sleeping with before it happens. Thank you.

If it is just at night while you sleep it could be some sort of chemical or hormone imbalance in your body. You should go see a doctor.

I used to get night sweats sometimes but it's rare and doesn't really happen much anymore.

Hi, azstudent, night sweating is often caused by some problems in your body, it is not general hyperhidrosis. so, you may go to see a doctor.

btw, I read your posts that you are an Idromed user, me too, however, I couldn't got any success with it. In this winter, I used it for about one months, there wasn't any improvement. Now, I restarted my therapy, but after treating my hands/feet for 12 days ( 30 min @12mA), there seems also no results. could you tell me that how you do your treatment? are your hands or feet now dry?

thanks!!

Ultra Frost, I think that 30 min at 12mA might be too much. I tried doing longer treatments like you are and the results were worse. Try 12 to 15 min at 12mA for your hands and 12 to 15 min on around 20mA for your feet. Also do your feet and hands separately. By that I mean do one hand in each tray and then after that’s done do the same for your feet. Hope this helps you out.
