Driving

Does anyone else here get extremely self conscience in there car afraid of what people with think of their driving???

Yes, all the time.

I worry about the car in front of me and the car behind me. And especially when I have passangers. The whole thing makes me lose focus and sometimes do funny things in traffic..

I drive much better and more relaxed when I'm alone in the car and alone on the road.

I did when I drove. Feel that way about walking too. Oh and sitting. And eating. And, well everything I do.
I let my license expire and when I tried to take the driving test I would have a panic attack and mess up. Don't matter though, I don't have a car anyways.

For me driving is one of the situations where my SA almost goes away, i love driving (been band for a while due to seizure) and when i do drive i feel so confident, maybe its because i know there are alot of nervous and unsure drivers out there and this makes me feel like i have an advantage. Ive also been commented numerous times on how good my driving is, i drive a larger than normal van for work and i get it in and out of all sorts of spaces no problems and when people compliment me on it i feel good, sorry if i sound big headed here but its one of the few things in life i actualy shine at

I started Driving at 9 years so it was one of the only things that i was better than everone else. so i love driving my modifided 360 Hp chevy truck. and my motor bike, my other car and enything else i can get my hands on.

Licence curantly suspeded for 110mph on I10 (limit 70) 2mothes ago. (I still Drive). thats what they call Recless Driving and dont ask about the fine i got

Yea I worry about what people think of my driving and just being behind the wheel of a car and how I can mess up.That's why I still don't have my driver license yet.

I'm afraid of driving but for a different reason. I have this overwhelming fear that I'll harm myself or others while driving a vehicle and I've had countless nightmares where I do so. I think it all stems from a fear that I'll panic while driving because of lack of confidence (i.e. in my ability to operate a vehicle safely) which is perhaps caused by my fear that I'll panic. It's a neverending wheel of anxiety.

where the hell were you that you were driving at 9? Usually the only thing 9 year olds are driving are bumper cars and those soapbox derby cars

I don't like driving when other people are riding in the car with me(I scare them I think. I drive too fast sometimes--I try not to if anybody else is in the car with me, but I still sometimes go around curves too fast and I guess it scares whoever's in the car with me--usually my parents. And my ex made me drive his rental car once--and he lived in a bigger city-- which scared me to death. 8O I was so afraid I was going to wreck it, and to make it worse, he left his best friend's girlfriend in the car with me, and she was making comments like "Don't leave me in here with her!" Gee, that really made me feel A WHOLE LOT better. :roll: But then 2 minutes later I said "Sorry if I'm scaring you" and she said "No, you're doing fine." :? ) so, I also dont like driving in cities...driving in my area is fine...I think I do fine driving to and from work.

But lately i got tailgated, but that's not the best part...i slowed down for the bastard. Isnt that so nice of me? Whenever I had one behind me I would slow way down. I hate those bastards. I have had 2 tailgaters hit me too. Why don't the police give tickets for tailgating? It is against the law. People would always tailgate on the road I used to live on and wouldn't pay attention when you slowed down. I would slow down and then speed up right before my driveway so they wouldn't hit me. Lots of accidents on my road because of fucking idiots. I was never in one on my own road since I expected and was ready for the stupidity.
