Chinese "powder herbs" offers relief!

Chinese Medicine have been of interest to me and recently I just finished a project work about Chinese Medicine and stress, it can be viewed here: HONG KONG STORIES Private Life Balance stress with Chinese medicine

In Hong Kong the government are spending large funds on Chinese Medicine, tens of millions is being spent to transform herbs into powder alone. That will keep the strength of Chinese herbs and making them easier to prepare. Hong Kong government facilities today have a capacity over 500,000 pills/capsules per day, see link: Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology (HKIB)

The student I interviewed during my project work, Lam Lam, I contacted her again and throughly described my sweating/heat intolerance/blushing/palpitation problems. Tomorrow I will go to the University clinic and get this powder herbs. I am not sure for how long I am supposed to take them, but there should be possible to see slight improvements within a month.

Combined with acupuncture this can give some relief. As we know, the medical world doesn't understand HH fully, but it is believed to be related to Sympathetic Nervous System overactivity, especially anxiety sweating. Recent science and reports shows clearly that acupuncture decrease Sympathetic Nervous System activity. See links:

Acupuncture Lowers Stress Response in Heart Patients
Chinese Medicine Eases Stress
Low-frequency electroacupuncture and physical exer... [Am J Physiol Regul Integr Comp Physiol. 2009] - PubMed result

Tomorrow I will also learn some acupressure points to practice every evening. I plan to begin with acupuncture in January, after having seen what the herb powder alone can do.

I know a lot of people don't "believe" in Chinese medicine and that it is not widely available in many countries - especially it's hard to get payment reliefs from any insurance. But I live in Hong Kong now, where the government have included in their law to make the city "an international centre for educations, research and treatment in Chinese medicine".

That means one of the best quality treatments available, and on top of that I have a student discount making every acupuncture session some 25-30 USD.

I'll give this a shot and keep you all updated.

I went to the clinic today. It was 25 degrees outside and I was running a bit late. Needless to say, I was sweating heaps when I came there. The medical student took my arm when showing acupressure points and said "oh, you really do sweat a lot". My arm from my hand to my elbow was damp so that my hair was sticking to it. That's good, so she realize the scale of my problem.

Blabla, explain this and that, talk about my symptoms. I said my parents sweat a lot too, and she said it is most likely inherited but nevertheless possible to treat. She said the world was unfair and I had nothing to accept but having symptoms more serious than others, though it can still be treated. She barely touched a point at my feet and I screamed of pain. It was a sign that "QI" is not flowing correct in my body.

I told her I went to a Chinese doctor before, and that this doctor had to prescribe stronger and stronger herbal medicines till the point that she said "I never prescribed this strong medicine before" even though she had 30 years experience and treated the Saudi royal family full time. So this medical student said she will make my medicine as strong as it was a risk I could feel unwell by taking it, but then I could always stop.

In a scientific way, the medicine is supposed to free the body's own healing powers by improving immune system and stimulate circulation. The acupressure points will help nerves and muscle tissue to relax.

When I was walking back from the clinic to the school -- a longer way than i had been walking to the clinic -- I didn't sweat at all.

I find it strange not to get a single reply on this thread since I am trying a remedy which I haven't been reading about before on this forum. Usually, people are up for anything. Maybe there is scepticism against Eastern medicine? That would be strange, since most of the members here tried Western medicine without finding relief.

Whatever it might be, I have been on this strong herbs and doing acupressure on a daily basis since Monday. Supposedly, the patient can feel some major changes after a week or two, which then will improve as your Qi is healing gradually. It's different from Western medicine, but better for your body in all ways since there is zero side effects.

I can feel some improvement. Maybe it is because the temperature has dropped here in Hong Kong, but I have been able to walk to and back home from school, without having the usual sweat stains on my shirt. The temperature might have dropped 2-4 degrees in a week. More interesting, I do not sweat when I have sex as before - usually my back and chest are soaked but now they aren't. And today on the gym, despite an a/c set on 22 which is usually quite warm for me, I did just slightly sweat through my shirt, instead of the usual water fall.

Of course the problem is not totally solved, and it can't be after less than a week, but improvements has been done. I don't feel my skin is hot all the time anymore. I am drinking herbs twice a day, doing acupressure 15-20 min every day before sleep and I have changed my diet somewhat, but nothing extreme.

Next Monday I will meet Lam Lam again and get another week of this powder herbs.

So grimaldi, overall has there really been a reduction in your sweating?

I haven't replied as I've been tied up with other stuff. I wouldn't dismiss Eastern medicine seeing as we are all looking for the same thing; a cure or relief. To be dismissive is to limit your options.

I'm in Australia, so I'm thinking it will be hard to follow what you've been doing if your successful.

Have you stopped trying Pro-Banthine and other western medicine? I still haven't seen my GP, so I'm still open to Robinul etc.

I do find it interesting though about the whole improving your Qi, as something may not be functioning correctly in our bodies.

Keep me posted.

Hi dougy,

For some reasons, several of my posts was taken away by the administrator, where I described the situation in detail. Probably because another guy came in and used bad language, but to bad the informative parts from me and the Taiwanese guy was taken away as well.

Anyway, there has been a reduce in my sweating, but it's hard to tell if it is because of the temperature drop or the treatment. At least it seems to be partly to the treatment, because when having sex or doing exercise, I sweat a little less now than before. Yesterday at the gym, a/c was on 22 degrees, and I sweated just "normal" instead of the usual rivers.

What I do now is
* Drinking the herbs two times/day
* Doing 20 minutes acupressure and relaxation every evening
* Cut coffee, tea, cigarettes, alcohol, fried food not totally but noticeable

I do feel less anxious. There has also been over a week since my girlfriend complained about smelly armpits, since I sweat less there now it seems. The acupressure is made up of 3 points and hands/arms and 4 points and leg/feet being a total of 14 points. I press each point for about a minute before sleep.

As I said the temperature has dropped here in Hong Kong, but December 15 I will go to Malaysia where it is still 30 degrees. Then I will see what good the remedy has done so far. Tomorrow Lam Lam will give me another 14 days of herbs.

As you said, it can be hard to find the same herbs in Australia. I guess though due to the large Chinese community that it is possible to fond a doctor to explain acupressure and they might even have other kinds of herbs - the one's you have to cook.

Chinese medicine is not about treating the symptoms, it's about treating the cause. Together with switch in diet I will also try to put at least some routines into my life as a new year's promise. I am determines to give this a couple of months, I think it can do a lot.

Darn...I gotta get me some herb, too.

Unfortunately though, here in the Netherlands we´ve got some different type of herbs...They might make you sweat a bit less but using them every day is not adviseable. In fact, they are so strong these days using them is not adviseable period.
