Can anyone relate to this Problem?.. I can nott do 2 or more things at the same time. I notice this problem recently. For example if Im talking on MSN and when one of my friend calls me on the phone, and when I pick up the phone I wont be able to concentrate on either of them. Im just not calm and i feel lost. My brain just freezes and I dont know how to react to what they r saying, so i just shut down and I dont really understand what they r saying. I HATEEEEEEEEEEE IT. I cant concentrate on more than 1 thing. Its not just that. Another example is when Im driving with some one and when Im at the passenger seat the person who drives the car will will start a conversation with me but i just wont be able to focus on what he's telling me because my mind is just out of controll. it just wonders around the street or somewhere else. Another example is I Cant communicate with 2 people at the same time.. I feel blocked and discomfort.

When Im reading some article on the net and if some one comes and talk to me. I just feel panicked and I feel distracted and I wouldnt know what the person said to me and also I forget what i was reading.

I can identify with what you are saying. A few years ago I had GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). It really sounds exactly like what you describe. I didn't know what was causing it - I knew I was anxious and distracted but I didn't know what I was bothered by. I took lexapro for about 8 months (I didn't really know when to stop taking it) and saw a counselor. By digging up my hidden fears - I stopped having the GAD and was able to concentrate. Don't be too hard on yourself - it's hard to deal with and feeling bad about having this problem is not fair. Can you get meds/counseling?

You may have a snag in your parallel co-processing skills. Typically this can be evaluated by your ability to multitask or to perceive complex objects instantaneously then compartmentalize from memory. Try, for example, to view a picture for a brief second, then trace it from memory. It is the same skill as multitasking.
