Can you have a social anxiety phobia

Even if you don't care what people think about you, and don't care if you get ignored. In fact, if i'm being honest i embrace being ignored as it allows me to keep myself to myself. My issues stem from a physical problem as opposed to mental one, so i guess i'm kind of in a different boat to those who yearn to be accepted ? I was thinking right, my life is a mess and i don't get out much, and i don't have any friends or a social life. However, i don't seem to be as emotional as others, and i don't have any fears of being judged or anything like that. I guess after years of the same problem, i just get on with it i suppose. Does anyone else out there feel the same ?

maybe this is off the topic, but sometimes i feel like saying "**** it, im offski" and just walk into the wilderness just to see how long i would last

i don't know if i follow you correctly, but here's my take on my SA:

i don't care what people think of me - but i'm *obsessed* that they may catch onto the physical symptoms that i have become an expert at concealing (to top it off, i'm extremely outgoing - which makes matters that much worse - an outgoing person having panic attacks?? - yes, i am very strange, indeed).

Abby, you pretty much summed it up. I was outgoing, although not extremely outgoing. I do tend to avoid Some folk for example would panic on a bus, but i haven't been on a bus or anything like that for a long time. things, but i don't get panic attacks. At the end of the day though, i'm hardly going to get panic attacks if i avoid things anyway.
