I'm just curious but do you guys feel this huge huge surge of confidence after a really really good day at work? I kind of do but only after a good work day and you have fun just being around people who are super nice and friendly and do most of the talking. I find it noticible, like I'm more confident and not so self aware more talkative and optomistic.

yea, actually if i have a good day in general weather i'm at school, work, or just hanging around town then yes it certainly does make me more confident. however that doesn't happen too often for me. :x

No, the only reason I feel a surge of energy after work is because I get to go home and relax since I don't have worry about socializing anymore.

I actually feel terrible after a bad day at work too where there is too much socializing and where your too much out of your confort zone. But if your working at a job where it's not that that bad for shy people where you occasionally have to notify your other coworkers to have something checked or ask them little itty bitty questions and not have deep discussions, I find that it's great for confidence. I kind of have it lucky though because most times I kind of work with only one or two other people but they do most of the talking and are yappy and so smily and not judgemental in anyway, so it's not like a big deal if I'm shy or only say only a few comments when they talk.

 I feel you. I do feel good sometimes after a good day at work, which is few and far between. There is this older group of people that I enjoy being around and it is easy for me to talk with them because they initiate the conversation. Most of the time I have to work around a younger group of people and it is like high school all over again  They talk and talk. Then thier friends from other floors or other sections in the office come over and start talking and I am just sitting there. The job that I do sucks because I constantly have to get up and ask questions about things. It sucks worse because in order to ask the question I have to walk past all those chatty females who stare at me.

Yeah. Also, overcoming fears gives me the same feeling. Conquering. Taking on challenges. Doing something I never thought I could. Oddly enough, there seems to be a few ways of controlling this feeling. Sometimes all you have to do is think of accomplishments and before you know it, you're already feeling a little more confident than before. Give it a whirl ;)

hey chris,

I know waht you mean as a good day at work can do that for you. BTW, I'm in Winnipeg right now for the next 10 days, so if you want to go for coffee, just let me know. It would be cool meeting someone off this forum! :)

I am self employed and when I hit a big sales day or have many good transactions I actually get really social. I'll want to hang out with people and meet new people. But during normal days or slower days I don't want to talk to anyone at all. It wears me out and I just want to lay there and read and not talk to anyone at all.
