Going back to being reclusive

These few days, I've been suffering from depression and even thought of shutting myself from the world forever. I had a job today but called to delay it because I was feeling unwell mentally...I ate two tablets of prozac and cried just now.

I was a recluse 3 years ago and came out of it when my friend introduced me to a job.

Now, I feel that i'm going back to become a recluse...should I tell my parents about it? I'm feeling really unwell mentally...

If your parents are understanding and you think they might help you... then yes, you should tell them.

I think you should talk to someone if you can. It's a slippery slope that's hard to climb from the bottom, and something that scares me a bit. I often think that if I didn't have a job it wouldn't take too long before I became agoraphobic.

can i ask, do you take prozac on a regular basis, the reason i ask is cause these pills prozac/fluoxitine arent supposed to be taken just when a person feels down at a particular time i dont think
the 'experts' say you have to be on them for 4-6 weeks sometimes before you will feel any better.
proxac made me a whole lot worse personally, but im in the minority i reckon, cause they seem to work for most people.

feel free to pm me about prozac especially if you feel its making you worse, cause your not alone. :)

did you feel better when you werent reclusive, cause im undecided.

I would definitely tell your parents. For us agoraphobic types, its very easy to slip into a housebound lifestyle.

I graduated college in may 2008 and was basically housebound from then till aboot a month ago. I finally was able to get a job and I am doing much better in my mind.

The job forces me to "push myself" beyond what I think I can do. Once I get off work I feel as though I could do most anything because I have accomplished something extremely difficult for me.

Not really. I actually felt more depressed when i'm homebound because I knew I would not last forever in this state.

I want to go out there and do things but I have low self-esteem and always afraid of this and that...but I really do want to push my boundaries and not stay at one spot forever.
