Your favorite books?

Hey everyone I'm just curious what your favorite books are? And if any one could recommend a good series?
I love fantasy and my all time favorites are The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, The Lord of the Rings and A Song of Fire and Ice by George RR Martin.

I'm not a big fan of fantasy novels, but I do like fantasy comic books. Promethea is a favorite of mine, I highly recommend it.

I like fantasy books, though I haven't read too many of them. I tend to lean more towards the classics like Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. Stuff like that. And I get a lot of flack for this one, I'm a pretty avid Harry Potter fan :x

I love Martin's Song of Ice & Fire. You looking forward to the TV series coming to HBO? I don't have HBO so I'll probably check it out on DVD.

I think what I like most about Martin's writing is that he doesn't waste words, he gets the reader to the meaty stuff instead of describing miles and miles of traveling and every tree.

Other than sci-fi and fantasy, I've read a few history books about WWII and such. Some of them can put you to sleep fast but I still find it interesting to learn about events that were before my time.

I recommend a book called Good Omens if you are in the mood for a laugh. It is a comedy about the anti-christ being switched at birth and ending up being raised by the wrong family and an angel and a demon and the four horsemen of the apocalypse get involved.

You know, there's a certain band that writes songs about books like those....

I really like Robert E. Howard's writing, but I don't understand how film adaptations always turn out to be so bad. He's created characters like Red Sonja, Solomon Kane, Kull, and Conan. I also really liked The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I've actually been meaning to write a song about it for years, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet (like most things, it seems).

Other than fantasy, I'm into WWII. Lately I've been enjoying books written by fighter pilots. Nothing sets the Christmas mood like reading about an escape from a burning Me-109.
