i'm a guy yet i've always gotten along better with women. i've known a lot of women who say they get along better with guys. women are better at communicating, especially when it comes to ideas and feelings, which is why i prefer being around women.

do you prefer being around the same sex or opposite sex when it comes to just hanging out?

(and i'm not gay)

I am much more comfortable around women.

I remember, as a kid, during holidays, etc. when all the men would gather 'round the TV to watch sports or whatever, I would get bored and go hang out in the kitchen with the girls.

(oh, I'm a straight male by the way)

I'd rather be around attractive women, though I am not gunna lie I am prolly gunna be crazy nervious. Oh well a learning experience :D

Animals most of the time, given a choice.

Most of my long term, stable friendships are with guys. I enjoy women but things tend to get complicated after a while. I think I might be most comfortable around lesbians. o_O

Women usually.

Although I have to say that lately I've been hanging out more with men and I'm starting to like their personalities better. Less drama and all lol. They still make me uncomfortable though.

It depends on their nature more so then their sex. If I go into a situation and I don’t know anybody I am more inclined to approach a female as oppose to a male, it probably suggests I am more comfortable with females, but in the long run that’s not always true.

Ah, guys, it's a given. The majority of my friends, I'd say a good ninety percent of them are guys but that's only due to my interests of gaming, collecting comics and being an all around nerd. Girls find that oddly discomforting so we usually have little in common but there are the mutual few who put up with me ::eek::

i would rather be around females. its just easier to have conversations because women think alot differently than men. however, most of my friends are males because its nearly impossible for me to meet girls because I can't initiate conversations with them. But i always enjoy spending time with the few girls that I do know. Its just less macho. alot of guys put up this big front of being too masculine and it intimidates me. however with women I can just look past the masculinity and we can talk about real problems and real situations instead of just trying to pour out an image of being a man. instead i have to deal with common phrases as "whoa, check that chick out!" and "nice ass!''. life has a better meaning than just judging people.

I don't relate to most guys.

Its easier for me to open up and talk to women.

If I were to vent to a guy he'd probably tell me to "STFU SISSY".......

women on the other hand are actually willing to listen and seem to care about what you're saying.

Hmmm. Well I know that potentially I'd feel more comfortable around guys because most girls make me nervous as heck. I just don't trust them/find most of them to be over dramatic. That being said, in real life I have more friends as girls (like three, lol), but they're not all dramatic so it's good. It would just be nice to make some guys for friends that aren't douche-y, and aren't going to be weird and awkward (as in pull some weird moves over me or something, lol. Not that I'm giving myself that much credit, but guys are guys...). I really enjoy the company of 2/3 of my older brothers which is just as good. Even better, really.

That was ramble-y as heck.

My comfort level is the same for both men and women. The fact that I'm open to a romantic relationship with women doesn't effect me at all with them.

Well then, let's be friends! ha

Somebody said it depends more on their nature. I agree. I can't stand materliastic people, I can't stand dependant people, so I'm leaning on the stereotypical male, but at the same time I'm intimidated by those who I admire. I've only had female friends, and one male acquaintance/near-friend, who was more similar to me than all of my female friends. So if we're speaking stereotypes, male. But I get along best with lesbians too. But of course, I'd never hang out with a lesbian, because i'd be tripping-over-self-spilling-things-nervous. They're so rare in the first place hahah...-sigh-

Most of my friends are women even though it's hard to hear about all the girly stuff or the mood swing ( not every girl ). Seriously most guys i met in my life are just a bunch of immature ahole, most but not all. I'm really happy to not be a straight girl or a gay guy because dealing with guys seem like a nightmare.

I definitely prefer being around women. I'm certainly more nervous when around the fairer sex, but I enjoy a woman's company more than a man's. I find that after an initial "ice-breaking" moment, I'm able to be loose and relaxed, and just make good conversation. With guys, it's easier to communicate, but it's rare that I enjoy talking or "hanging out with" the guys. I usually find myself bored or even angry with the conversation taking place.

I like to be around women. I dunno, I guess it feels like I'm "different" by default so it doesn't seem like I'm a weirdo. I'm just a dude and they're girls, everyone expects a certain gender gap.

I still like to hang out with guys too, but I feel like it takes more effort. Guys are just competitive I suppose, it's a constant dance of one-upmanship. It's sometimes okay if I'm really comfortable around them--like with my nerd friends. But some guys I just can't keep up with; as if they're a difference species. An alpha male might as well be an orangutan.

Much more at ease with women, my SA is much higher in the company of men, possibly due to abuse in my childhood
