I know it may seem like a weird question and all but would having a role model help out with SA. I know everyone wants to be exactly like their role model. So if your role model was very talkative outgoing would that also drive to you act very talkative and outgoing just like them.

my role model, if I had to have one, would be Nobuo Uematsu, the composer of Final Fantasy FF1 through 12 I believe. I only played 1 through 10 and all his songs are beautiful. He is amazing at playing the piano. His band "The Black Mages" are awesome. Here's a song. Check him out at 45 seconds in. I love that part of the song. I can play it on piano lol he makes simple, beautiful music. YouTube - The Black Mages Live Above The Sky - Clash On The Big Bridge

I love videogame music :/

It might, indeed. :3

But at the moment most of my role models are fictional characters like Jackie Estacado and Sarah Conner. I try to look up to them (personality wise, not occupational), but not copy their straits.

Yes, role models help A LOT.

I had two roommates that were wonderful role models, and I learnt A LOT from them. And some cool flatmates/neighbours too!
We were just matched by the dorm, so it was totally 'accidental', they were really great and we had lots of fun!

Role models can be fictional too.. You can ask yourself, what would X do in my situation?

A role model would help! It would help you act like them! It's very easy to act too much like them that you miss your goal of being more outgoing. Preferably that role model would be older than you and wouldn't mind them being your role model...or doesn't know which is even better. This also includes never having met you personally.

David Smith is one of my role models. At age 26, he weighted 300 kgs, had no friends, was a virgin and spent most of his time eating and watching television. He was both depressed and suicidal He got a second chance at life and at the age of 32, he was down to 110 kgs and had gotten his life straightened up. At age 33 he was even down to 99 kgs.

Quite an achievement.

Hard though it must have been to drop that much weight, I wonder if it was harder to change his own mental image of himself.
