What's your favourite comedy?

When i get depressed or start beating myself up about something, i'll watch a comedy. It might seem a bit shallow, but after half an hour of decent comedy, my moods are completely turned around and i feel ready to face the world again. I owe more to John Cleese and Rowan Atkinson than i do to any doctor. I get down, so i dose myself up with comedy.

What are your favourite comedies, and why? Doesn't matter if they are tv shows or films or radio programmes. Just as long as it makes you crack up!

My favourites are Fawlty Towers (with the brilliant John Cleese) Blackadder (with the equally brilliant Rowan Atkinson) and The League of Gentlemen - because it's humour is incredibly dark and sick. All tv series, by the way (but i think The League of Gentlemen started off as a radio programme)

I love the humour in the earlier series of The Simpsons.

My favourite comedy sitcom is definitely Fawlty Towers. Every so often I watch the entire series on dvd, and I never get tired of it.

On one hand it's a shame they only made two series of Fawlty Towers, but it's also good (and a rarity these days), that they quit while they were ahead.

Some really brilliant ones mentioned in here already which also happen to be some of my faves. I love Only Fools And Horses as well as Red Dwarf, The Young Ones just to add a few more.

Oh, the Young Ones is brilliant. So full of youthful violence and agression! Thing i love about it is that my brother is A LOT like Rick - not appearence-wise, but in the way he acts. He's like an older version of my brother! Fantastic show.
