what do you guys do for stinky shoes?

Have more than 1 pair so you can give the pair you just wore a day or two to air out before you wear em again.

You could try Odor Eaters powder that you sprinkle in your shoes or socks before you put em on. Dont know how well that works though.

And get some Lysol Disinfectant Spray. After you take your shoes off just spray em with it and leave it by a fan or something and let it dry out overnight.

The Lysol is an anti-bacterial so it'll kill whatever is in your shoes and hopefully not let them breed and get your shoes stinky. (I do this one myself. Learned about it from a running forum where people have lots of stinky running shoes.)

Let me know if it works for you too.

Hi,

I'm presuming Lysol is an american product. Does anyone know if it is available in the UK or of a UK equivalent.

Also is there specifically a spray for shoes or is it just a general antibacterial spray.

cheers

You guys should check out Certain-Dri feet powder. It's supposed to keep your feet fresh throughout the day while it kills bacteria.

Some smells are really hard to get rid of. You could try replacing your insoles with new ones and spraying Febreze anti-microbacterial a few times over (letting the shoes dry completely between rounds). That might help.

If anyone has truly bad, clear the room type of odor look into pitted keratolysis. I know that formalaz 10% takes care of most sweaty foot odor. It is 10% formaldahyde which such a antiseptic that they used to embalm people with it. It sure takes care of odor, and you need to get a perscription.

I have that problem. I tried baking soda. It works for me. Before I go to bed, I cover the sole of the shoes with baking soda. Next morning, I get rid of the baking soda in the toilet. I hold the shoes close to the toilet as it gets dusty with baking soda.

Also, you could put your shoes in a zipper lock bag and put it in the freezer overnight. The cold temperature kills the smelling bacteria. I never tried this one.

I was having problems with my shows smelling (probably had to do with the sweaty feat from going to the gym) and all I did was get some Odor Eaters spray. One spray in each shoe in the morning and odor is gone.

My feet sweat a whole lot but I don't ever seem to have problems with odor, same with my arm pits, or maybe I just don't notice them? :s
