I tried Wellbutrin, Wellbutrin SR, and Wellbutrin XL at doses as high as 450mgs. They did nothing for me. Wellbutrin usually starts working (if it does at all) in a few weeks.

My experience was that it made me nuts. I was only on it for aboot 3-4 days however.

I had some type of break from reality and I got really angry and anxious at the same time. Oh yeah...I was crying as well and then I ran around the block cause I had all this excess energy.

It was an interesting experience to say the least. I don't usually react to medications like this at all. In fact most of the medicines I have been on have done nothing.

Needless to say, I discontinued use after that experience. Most experiences I have read indicate that it produces anxiety rather than relieves it.

It does however work fine (mainly for depression) for many people. Its also commonly prescribed as an adjunct to SSRI therapy to treat sexual dysfunction.

I'm on Wellbutrin XL for Panic Disorder. I first started to kick in about a week and half in. The only thing I didn't like about it was for a month straight everyday I'd get the worst stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhea and weird sleep patterns. After that month the drug worked great. The con is you really can't miss a dose, you could possibly miss a day, but you miss anymore and you get pretty bad withdrawal which I never want again. The biggest pro I got from this drug was I quit smoking after 15 years.

If anything ask your doctor what you want. I was prescribed Wellbutrin to help with my PD and my smoking. I'm sure I would of been given something different if the smoking wasn't a factor

I suffer from panic disorder as well. I'm currently on day 6 on the medication wellbutrin. But man does it ever make it hard to sleep. So far though I haven't noticed anything.

Definitely give it another week. The lack of sleep sucks, but I found the next morning great and felt well-rested. If you have no gross side effects you're lucky and I envy you.

Just needed to update about wellbutrin and how awful the withdrawal is. I ran out about a couple days ago. This morning I had one of the worst panic attacks int he last couple months coupled with horrible depression. worst experience ever! If you're running low make sure to get that bottle filled before it gets empty.

Ya I kind of had a mini break down as well with my rx cocktail. First and only time I popped a wellbutrin with zoloft, I felt immensely moody. Maybe it had something to do with the 200 mg dosage of zolof that went with it....::eek:: So, I decided from then on, I'd like to eventually cease this routine of popping rx cocktails. Too many unnecessary chemicals for me.
