ways to cope/deal with depression

like i say these are all obvious ones. what do yous guys do apart from those ones that everyone can maybe try?
 
Positive thought; My favorite is 'Well life couldn't get any worse so it has to get better right?'

Success Stories; I think reading other people's sucsess stories can be really usful, you can pick up tips to try over come depression.

Good Friends; I think it's really importent you have someone you trust to speak too because keeping bad feelings too your self is bad for the soul.
Or if you don't have someone to speak too at least keep a diary, to let out the bad feelings. (imo)

Mood; try to be as up beat as possible to avoid thinking of all the bad stuff.

You should go to the Orkney Islands! You have it round the corner. I hope I will once go.

i think you have to try to stop a funk as soon as you suspect you're getting into one. its like after the first few minutes, you've passed the point of no return. like when you're sitting in the wrong train for a few seconds and have to jump up and get your ass off it before the doors close and the train takes off. in that tiny window you can distract yourself by doing something and trying hard to not let your thoughts wander. its so hard though
