What do you do to prepare yourself?

I personally get dressed to look my best, drink lots of coffee, listen to some music and tell myself it is going to be okay; I don't really believe myself though. I tend to play what's ahead over and over again in my head, and feel what I believe I am going to feel, this just makes me nervous.
I try not to think about it, but this just makes me nervous because I don't feel like i'm preparing myself enough.

If I don't have to go, I see if I can word myself out of it or avoid it somehow.

If I have to go, I figure there's nothing I can do to remove the anxiety, so I take a more... impulsive manner with things, and pretty much dash right into the situation without thinking. Like metaphorically, running out the door, sprinting to the car, driving recklessly fast, etc... but mentally.
