Whenever I think of the good times they always involve socialising with other people. Friends I've made and things I've done with them.
It's funny how people with SA seem to avoid, or be afraid, of what they want the most. But in the rare times you can do it, it's the best thing you could want.
The best time of my life was when my son was a baby. Up until he was about 5 years old. For that time period, I was all he needed, I was the center of his universe, he was the center of mine (he still is), and I didn't have to deal with other people. After that, all the mess started up with him wanting to invite friends over to play (and their mothers had to tag along, too, of course 🙁 ) Then came school and having to deal with teachers and all that. . . I felt needed back then, and there was someone who thought I was just the cat's ass (that's a good thing 🙂), it didn't matter to him that I am "weird". He still doesn't care that I'm weird, but I always have to feel guilty, that he'd be better off with someone else as a mother. . .
Foxglove,
Don't feel guilty about being a mother with SA (or whatever mental struggle you're enduring). Wouldn't it be better to try to do things to make your son's childhood better in other ways. I would offer some suggestions, but I figure you know him the best, so get out and get back into your son's life. Sure, you may think he would want another mother, but you're the one he has. You need to make the most of the time that you have with your son so you can be happier about your relationship with him.
at the uni i had a great group a people, perhaps most wittiest, creative people that lived in Europe ever.. it was fun to work and have fun with them.. Unfortunately, shitty times had splited us forever 🙁
going to pony club camp
going on an amazing school trip
living in Germany
When my parents were together and in the army
Going to Dubai with my dad for the firs time
They are my main ones. Makes me smile thinking about them, but also kinda makes me sad because my SA would probably stop me from doing some of them now.
