lol, yes exactly luke! although I started spelling it with the "z" a while ago because so many in here do.lol
I've also recently started spelling colour and neighbour without the "u" as so many in here do too.::

I actually wouldn't be too proud of people telling off the troll earlier, since it was a regular member (won't say who), and not the "troll", who made the whole thing personal. The "troll" actually had some useful advice, he just said it in a condescending manner and generalized everybody with SA. He obviously had no real understanding of what SA is like, and a lot of members responded with name-calling and personal attacks.

Agree!! In fact I was shocked more by the responses than the OP. I don't like the attitude "eye for eye, tooth for tooth". That doesn't eliminate badness, only adds another.

I am baffled that you were shocked by such responses. Given the nature of the original post, they were entirely inevitable. Quite predictable. Saying provocative things to maximize response is what trolling is.

I could be handled in a polite way, not name calling and personal attacks! It only stirrs **** more and more, people begin fighting and in the end all of them are just the same idiots .

I think people are venting after that other thread. Some were quite angry and insulted.

Personally, I agree with Twiggle, Pyro and Lea, that it could be handled better by the community as well.
The poster had a valid point, though he used too rude language and later attacked some people personally too. On some forums 'rude language' may be accepted, since it was a new poster I was willing to give him the benefit of a doubt that maybe he just didn't know the rules and 'culture' of this forum that well...

Maybe I'm naive and idealistic, I don't like the idea of 'trolling the troll' if there's even remotely a chance that the person could be genuine and if maybe talking in a constructive way could help them learn something and 'come to senses' and see their mistakes and mend them...

I think he was just showing 'typical behaviour' of someone who doesn't know what sa is, and I think educating him about it could help him see things differently.

In RL you sometimes can't just 'erase' someone saying these exact or similar things (eg parents/family/friends), I think it's important to learn how to deal with it in a constructive manner.

I know people in RL whose every 2nd word can be a 'swearword' and they sometimes don't mean anything with it at all. (I don't like rude language either, I think it's important to try to be a level above it though too...)
