Valentines Day over the internet

As we all know ‘Valentines Day’ is spring up on us. I know that Valentines Day is just only a commercial holiday for people to empty out their wallets, a big enterprise really.
But being Valentines Day I would like to spoil a person with anything. But the fact is that this person is someone whom I met over the internet, we’ve known each other for a very long time and I would like to surprises her with something on that day. But being this over the internet, I’m limited on what I might do.
I suppose an e-card would be an option, but its to cliché. I would rather do something out of my own effort. But what?
I’ll be glad if anyone had any suggestions or any history which you had once done for someone that you have met over the net, and starting to like.

Also, i won't want to go to the extreme and say those 3 magical words 'I love you'.
I shamefully ruined it once for us, saying it over and over to her, but never got that same reply in return, well..perhaps just once which could have been a mistake or forced by my words.
I'm deeply in regret now after all that, which has been a few months already, and I still can't find it in me to say sorry for such an outburst of words. But I do adore her very much.

thanks

Hi there you old romantic :p

You are right in that there are limited ways to surprise someone with a gift over the internet but that's not to say there aren't options. You could try to make her a card using software like Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paintshop pro. You could look on the net for pictures and make a huge collection of pictures of hearts and put them all in a zip file and email it to her or send it over msn. If not hearts, then maybe something else that's significant to you and her. Do you have her address? If so you could arrange to have flowers delivered to her door or chocolates or both. You could search for a romantic song you think she will like or that's significant to the two of you and email her the mp3.

I met my girlfriend online 8 years ago and we talked on the phone for 5 years before meeting in person. We met in person on Valentines night 2004 and this valentines night will be our 3 year anniversary of being together in real life :)

Good luck!!

Personally I know these work wonders...

Other possibilities might be:

Write her a nice from the heart poem.
Send her a meaningful song.
Make your own e-card with photoshop.
Doctor up a photo of her with photoshop.

Any combination of those would be nice I think.
I can help you with any photoshopping if you want.

Good luck!

What awesome people you both are! I wouldn’t have expected such helpful tips from the both of you.
I’ve got a maybe more vivid image on what I shall do.
The thing is also, that she doesn’t live in the same country as me. If she did, sending her a bunch of roses anonymously would be my top priority. But she does have a fondness for many types of flowers.
I could create some sort of potential e-card with Photoshop combining all her favorite flowers in it, the effects I’m not to certain about yet, but will play around with the Photoshop version that I have.
The links that you sent Joker are quite useful for actually the pictures, not so much the service. I would use it if I could. If I’ve got any trouble with it all, I’ll let you know. I for one hadn’t used Photoshop in years.

Well done fallenfeather on your 3rd anniversary.
I was contemplating to call her, but I just don’t know what I would actually say. Msn seems so easier with communicating, with no awkwardness or anything, things just seem to pop into mind.
How old were you when you started chatting with your girlfriend?

I was 18. I'm almost 26 now. She lives in London and I live in Ireland so th edistance was a factor for us too, so don't let that put you off. We only see each other 2 or 3 weekends a month, but we often work it so we book days off to extend our weekends. We're looking at moving in together this year. Maybe you should suggest a phone conversation the next time you see her on msn. How long have you been chatting with her?

distance was a factor with you both, yes.. but not like my situation, at least you live in the hemisphere.
I've known her for 1 and half years so far. Never spoken to her, never setted up a webcam to let her see me, although I do have one...which gives me an idea on the day to finally turn it on.
But belonging to a social phobia forum, i do suffer from very low self esteem particularly with my appearance, thus thats whats holding me back. But i guess its no different from looking at a picture i sent her of me or physically seeing me through webcam.

How were you feeling when you were about to meet her? or when you were actually face to face for the very first time, became speechless, became awkward?
