Well I have an ad blocker, I just can't be bothered to use it most of the time. As long as I don't have to deal with popups, spyware, and random pron ads, then the rest of the banner ads are no big deal to me. Unfortunately an ad blocker won't stop idiot spambots from posting a gazillion threads selling a bunch of crap.

Depends on which ad blocker you refer to. AdBlock Plus posts its source code Source Code so if you have the skill, patience, and interest, you can verify the security of it.
