Post your collections :)

Ok, well I don't really have much of a collection of anything anymore, but everyone's showing bookshelves, so thought I'd show the small amount I have.

My comics. I couldn't get all of them in the picture though =/

Ha yes. I've always been fascinated with weather.
I used to watch all the weather stations as a kid. I'd flip and watch them all and compare. I even printed out a forecast for my parents every week and posted it on the fridge lol.
There was also a period I got a little OCD with stats. I'd collect climatology stats and keep them in a binder, even cut the daily weather section in the newspaper and keep temperature stats.

I can remember specific dates that a record high or record low, or particular weather phenomena happened. Well, usually not to the date, but close enough. For instance February '96. That was the last coldest temperature of 8 degrees, but also reached 95 two weeks later.
Ok nerd alert.

Anyway, I think I love weather so much because I'm just fascinated with the evolution of it, and most things for that matter. I like to follow a storm on the radar and see what it does. If it's coming near me though, I'll be out and enjoying it. (Although I am deathly afraid of lightning strikes, I've seen too many close calls!)

Wow, I used to watch the weather channel all the time when I was a teenager. My brother would get mad at me, lol. I always get excited when we are under a severe thunderstorm watch or even better, a warning. I hate when the storms miss me. I dream of seeing a tornado one day. I did see a dust devil once and I have seen ball lightning, at least I think that is what it was..it was during a thunderstorm, I looked outside and I saw this ball of fire just floating about 2 feet above the ground, it went past my car and then turned at a weird angle. Now snow is another story, considering the 3 blizzards we went through in 09-10 I don't care if I ever see it again.

I'm impressed with your memory of weather stats...my brain just doesn't work that way, I forget my own phone number on a regular basis.

I also noticed your interest in dreams...also another interest of mine, I did a book report on them in school. Dreams have always fascinated me. I have several dream dictionaries but decided I don't believe those, but I do like to figure out the meanings behind my dreams or other peoples dreams. Ever heard of hypnopomic hallucinations?

Oh absolutely. Once the warning comes and it gets hectic, I get all giddy. We've had lots of tornadoes nearby me, but from my perspective at the house, and not owning a car anymore, I've never actually seen one. As a matter of fact just 1 week ago we had a major rotating storm with golf ball hail that past over. So far this year it's been a pretty great one for severe weather. But I think the 100 degree temps are starting to set in now for the summer.

Yeah, dreams are very interesting. How the subconscious mind talks to you. The strange emotions you feel after waking up. I haven't had a really deep dream in some time, but I do like learning about all of the symbolisms.
And no I've never heard of hypnopomic (what?) hallucinations. It's peaked my interest though, I'm going to skim over it tonight after I eat dinner :)

Astronomy and Iguanas for Dummies? ;)

that is sad. does she live alone?

She lived with my grandpa until he died about 6 years ago. She was a hoarder before that, though. She is nowhere near as bad as the people on that show, though. There isn't stuff piled on chairs, couches, and walkways. She just has a lot of stuff she doesn't need. I don't know how to explain it. You'd just have to see her place.

^Love your little collections Tele they're so cute! And I noticed you have a Petit Larousse!! :D
People are so organized, I have a living dead dolls collection but it would break all the neatness and the cleanliness of the thread lol.

Yes, the books for dummies are good books!
I had the Iguana for dummies when I owned an iguana. Had him for about 2 years until he got loose on me and ran away.

Tele, that was a very nice collection! It's so tidy and pretty :) Thank you for showing.

Yeah luckycharms, I think I may know what you mean. Well one time in particular I can remember after taking a nap, I woke up and saw ants on the couch. It was so real though, unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Because my eyes were open, I knew I was awake, yet there were the ants. I tried to touch them, but it's just like they were illusions. They went away after maybe 30 seconds, but it was indeed a strange thing.
Interesting phenomena.
