Panic attacks a breathing disorder?

I read an article not to long ago, I forgot where... In it, the doctor was talking about how panic attacks are caused by over breathing. What is more interesting is that when you over breath, you get rid of too much carbon dioxide in your lungs which causes you to feel dizzy, light headed and may lead to a panic attack. What's even more interesting is that when you over breathe, it feels as if you are not getting enough air since you are depleting your lungs of carbon dioxide  ...
Also, this doctor claims that people may learn to over breath over a period of years and that it's somewhat hard to break the habit...
Anyway, maybe that's why the yoga helped me...

hmm could be true, deep breathing always helps me when I'm feeling anxious. I'm guessing it's just like yoga breathing, slow, deep breaths, expanding your gut and holding it for a sec or two. Seems to slow down my heart rate too. But I think it's oxygen we need not CO2.
