Out of date Avert 2mg??

Hi All,

I've got some Avert that is left over from an order from a while ago.

The expiry on it is 5th April 2013. Would you be comfortable taking it? Or is it far too out of date to consume?

I've read a little on the internet that suggests medicines can be taken out of date as the expiry dates are very conservative.

I'm based in the UK so it's expensive for me to order from Canada.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Yes, I read an article that said that out-of-date medicines retain potency, although it is less than 100%. So there is some value left in them. However, it warned against taking aspirin that is out-of-date, because it can be dangerous. Probably that should extend to anything for pain. I am taking some tablets which consist of minerals, not aspirin, which are out-of-date by over a year. They should still have some benefit.

However, perhaps it would be a good idea to ask a doctor or do some research for that particular product.
