I wouldn't have a problem meeting anyone on here, provided they were close enough. :)

not actually Fiona Apple
After meeting with people from the forum, I can say that it is the case that (depending on the person) it starts with not talking/barely talking/stammering. I saw 4 people over the span of 10 days, one for 10 days, 2 for 5 and 1 for a day. Once you realize it is the same people you communicate with online though, it becomes easier to say things, and in the very least the silences are comfortable as opposed to awkward. By the end of it I wasn't socially exhausted as I expected, as it usually happens when out with more than, I wanted it to keep going.

Yeah, I think more people on here should meet it may actually be their cure for loneliness which seems to be a predominant message on here.

Which is why I agree with this. One day is exposure and is much of a cure, but anything longer and the loneliness goes away, once it's just online in person, online being a sort of unfulfilling-but-better-than-nothing cure to the loneliness. If only we all lived closer together...

Also I think most people are more articulate in writing, even those who are great speakers. It's having that time to think and delete and agonize over every word ::p: They are still our own words though, and meeting someone who's words you have read, and who has read your words, is easier than any old random person.

I, too, would be pretty terrified to meet anyone from this site. At the same time though, I would be very excited. I'd love to meet a lot of you from here, no matter how scared I would be. :)

My observation on this site after the day I've had...

Just like life,,, people looking in at your life,ie, your posts. With or with out any thing in common. Not passing judgment but just peeping in to see if your life is worse than theirs...

Oh cool :) I think that’s something I would really like to do once I have a settled location I’m in Adelaide Australia right now but I could be moving to Hawaii anytime in the next couple of months I have only met some people with sp through group therapy and that's been quite sometime now.

It's good that some people on here have plans to meet:D

Oh, I didn't know you lived in Adelaide! Never been there but I want to. Why Hawaii?

I have met 2 people from here so far and they're both awesome, so I do want to meet some more. :)

It’s closer to my bf’s family we thought if we moved there it would be a bit of an exciting place for people to visit us but it is pretty expensive it’s not definite that we will move there yet.

Unfortunately he doesn’t favor Australia too much but he came here on a student visa and needs to finish. I’m trying to convince him to stay here but I don’t think he will.

So you're willing to up and move countries? If that's what you want to do then go for it.

I have met up with some members from this forum before. I would like to do it again. For some reason I am not scared about meeting up with people I meet online...perhaps 'cause we know about each other and our issues and we don't have to pretend.

I have only met Mikey and Aletheia - kind of cool considering I never thought I would met anyone off here.
