Hi ,
I've been reading these forums for a while. I have s.a and agoraphobia, it started when I was in college
when I was 17. and all my friends disowned me because of the illness and still till this day don't think that im ill
they just think im weird..

up lintel a few months ago I
hadn't been out the house for over a year when things where really bad. but I am doing allot better now I find it a bit easier,
to go outside and feel more confident in myself. I still have a long way to go but I feel allot better than I did
a year or two ago.

1) They weren't really friends if they disowned you because you're ill. Better off without them!

2) You're not alone. I was unable to go out of the house for 5 years! Didn't improve much still struggle to go out.

3) Glad you're doing a lot better. And welcome :)

Hi, I'm also a newbie. For me as I get older it seems to get a little better, maybe becoz as an adult you kinda have to put yourself out there when you go to work. Before that I avoided any and all social situations.

Its really nice to finally have people to talk to who understand what you have been and are going through - other people just think you are weird.

Its awesome that you are doing better than you were a few months ago. For me, SA is bad at some times and better at others. I try to remember the times when it wasn't so bad so it can lift me up out of the times I want to hide.

Welcome! I can relate to SA getting better. After college it got a lot better because I had to put myself out there. Also, social situations are easier as an adult because it seems like people aren't as judgmental about the shallow things.
