Stone Sour - Through the Glass

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh god it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes
Initialized and folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of hope
So while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me

Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)
Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the stars
The stars
That shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars
That lie to you, yeah

Oh no, I am lacking, I want what I see
You fireball have rolled away, in shaded valleys
So here I am the creek bed, so here I feel my way in the dark
What wonder, what treasure map, what breaking of day
What stream used to flow here, and now what dusty decay
Let the flash flood begin, wash me down there canyon
Quicksand pull me in, blow over me solar wind

This song is just terrible. It's too close.

Sometimes in the morning I am petrified and can't move
Awake but cannot open my eyes
And the weight is crushing down on my lungs
I know I can't breathe
And hope someone will save me this time

And your mother's still callin you insane and high
Swearin it's different this time
And you tell her to give in to the demons that possess her
That god never blessed her insides
Then you hang up the phone and feel badly for upsetting things
Crawl back into bed to dream of a time
When your heart was open wide and you love things just because

And sometimes when you're on
You're really f uckin on

And your friends they sing along
And they love you
But the lows are so extreme
That the good seems f uckin cheap
And it teases you for weeks in its absence

But you'll fight and you'll make it through
You'll fake it if you have to
And you'll show up for work with a smile
You'll be better
And You'll be smarter
And More grown up and a better daughter or son
And a real good friend
And you'll be awake
You'll be alert
You'll be positive though it hurts
And you'll laugh and embrace all your friends
And you'll be a real good listener
You'll be honest
You'll be brave
You'll be handsome and you'll be beautiful

Your ship may be comin in
You're weak but not givin in
To the cries and the wails of the valley below
And your ship may be comin in
You're weak but not givin in
And you'll fight it you'll go out fightin all of em
You'll be happy

But I'm feeling better : ).... I think.

You're so happy now
Burning a candle at both ends
Your self-loving soothes
And softens the blows you've invented

Breathe in deep and cleanse away our sins
And we'll pray that there's no God
To punish us and make a fuss

Crack's healing up
Future soul forgive this mess
You waste twenty years
And wind up alone, demented

Breathe in deep and cleanse away our sins
And we'll pray that there's no God
To punish us and make a fuss

This old black dog is hounding me
It waits ‘round the corner and hides in the trees
I feel the chill of something blown in on a breeze

In the light of a cinema screen I hide
Laughing I only feel empty inside
Crying means nothing, I’ve nothing to say
I wish I could kick this old black dog away

And the worst part is knowing my part in it all
Yeah the worst part is knowing its nothing at all

Oh if I can pull myself together I’ll try
I can’t explain the tear that sits in my eye
I try to outsmart him but somehow he knows
Wherever I am, that ****ing dog goes
I’ll kill him the next time I swear I won’t fail
I’ll kick in his ribs and I’ll rip off his tail

And the worst part is thinking it’s something it’s not
Yeah the worst part is thinking it might never stop

Oh if I can pull myself together I’ll try
I can’t explain the tear that sits in my eye

And the worst part is trying to explain it to you
The worst part is knowing there’s nothing to do

Oh if I can pull myself together I’ll try
Oh but I cant explain the tear that sits in my eye

If I can pull myself together I’ll try
Oh if I can’t pull myself together I’ll die

Where no-one knows you
Don't bore them with your defense now
Where no-one knows you
The time has come to realise
That no-one wants you
You don't have any friends here
'Cause no-one knows you
You fade into the dust and find

Darkness
Is all that I want tonight
You save me every time
Darkness
Is all that I want for life
You saved my life tonight

Where no-one knows you
Don't bore them with your defense now
You know you're an outcast
The time has come to roll the dice
But why would it change them
They choose to live life in shallowness
Blind as bats
One day they might realise.

Caught In The Crowd
There was a guy at my school when I was in high school
We'd ride side by side in the morning on our bicycles
Never even spoken or faced each other
But on the last hill we'd race each other

When we reached the racks we'd each go our own way
I wasn't in his classes, I didn't know his name
When we finally got to speak he just stared at his feet
And mumbled a sentence that ended with 'James'

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I'm sorry
If I could go back do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please please believe that I'm sorry

Well he was quite a big guy, kinda shy and quiet
When the kids called him weird he didn't try to deny it
Every lunchtime he'd spend walking by himself
Round the boundary of the grounds til he heard the bell

Well one day I found him, joined him on his walk
We were silent for a while until we started to talk
I told him my family were fighting in court
He said his step-dad and him always fought

We talked about music ? he was into punk
Told me all the bands that I liked were junk
I said I'd never heard the songs the sex pistols sang
I laughed back at him and then the bell rang

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I'm sorry
If I could go back do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please please believe that I'm sorry

It was after school in the afternoon
The corridors were crowded as we came out of the rooms
Three guys I knew pushed him into the cement
Threw away his bag and said he had no friends

He yelled that he did and he looked around
Tried getting up but they pushed him on down
That's when he saw me, called out my name
And I turned my back, and just walked away

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I'm sorry
If I could go back do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please please believe that I'm sorry
Please please believe that I'm sorry!

YouTube - ‪Aqualung - Easier To Lie‬‏
To bear the weight
and push into the sky
it's easier to lie
it's easier to lie

And honestly
to look you in the eye
it's easier to lie
it's easier to lie

To be the one
to be the only one
something has to give a lot
something has to give a lot

And who am I
to give you what you need
when I'm learning
just learning
Learning how to live and

to bear the weight...
and push into the sky
it's easier to lie
it's easier to lie

And honestly
to look you in the eye
it's easier to lie
it's easier to lie

To fill the space
the space you made for me
try to be the one you want
try to be the way you want

And maybe I
could be the one you need
if you'd only
show me
Show me how to live and

how to bear the weight
And push into the sky
it's easier to lie
easier to lie

And do what's right
when everything is wrong
it's easier to run
it's easier to

Never have
to look you in the eye
it's easier to lie
it's easier to lie

To bear the weight
and push into the sky
it's easier to lie

R.E.M Everybody Hurts

When your day is long and the night
The night is yours alone
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on
Don't let yourself go
Everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it's time to sing along
When your day is night alone (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go (hold on)
When you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on

Everybody hurts
Take comfort in your friends.
Everybody hurts
Don't throw your hand. Oh, no
Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life
The days and nights are long
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes
So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on

Everybody hurts
You are not alone

Soul Asylum Runaway Train

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a slow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

Everything is cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
Little out of touch, little insane
Just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never comin' back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
Runaway but it always seems the same

Wow... a lot of these lyrics are great. :) Faded... I have listened to those Linkin Park songs soo many times yet I never applied them to myself.... the fit very well. Same as Unwell for Matchbox 20.
wow. first when i actually understand the lyrics, and can apply them to myself O__O used to sing along when i was little without knowing what i was about lol

Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be.
As a friend, as a friend, as an old Enemy.
Take your time, hurry up, choice is yours, don't be late.
Take a rest, as a friend, as an old memory.

Memory ah, Memory ah, Memory ah.

Come doused in Mud, soaked in Bleach, as I want you to be.
As a trend, as a friend, as an old Memory ahhh.

Memory ahh, Memory ahh, Memory ahh.

Chorus:
And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun

--Instrumental--

Memory ahh, Memory ahh, Memory ahh, Memory ahh. (Don't have a Gun.)

Chorus:
And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun
(Memory ahh, Memory ahh)

You're weak, broken in a motel
You blink, tears are falling down, down, down
And you're free, free inside your own hell
You speak, "Someone let me out"

[Pre-Chorus] And I can't stop this pain it only grows
Tell me why I always feel alone
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
Show me what I'm really living for

[Chorus] I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're doomed from the start
I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're falling apart

[Verse 2] Your dreams, slowly turn against you
Your feet, sink into the ground
And you bleed, naked in a back room
You scream, "Someone let me out"

[Pre-Chorus] And I can't stop this pain it only grows
Tell me why I always feel alone
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
Show me what I'm really living for

[Chorus] I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're doomed from the start
I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're falling apart

[Interlude] "How come most of your songs are sad songs?"
"Well you know, I don't, I have a few that aren't sad
They're hopeless, totally hopeless situations
And the rest aren't sad, they're just the way it goes, you know
You don't think life's sad?
But from recognizing sadness you can put it aside and be happy
And enjoy the happy side of life."

[Chorus] I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're doomed from the start
I wanna love, wanna live, wanna breathe, wanna give, wanna
But it's hard and it's dark and we're falling apart
