Just out of curiousity, is it common for mature people to say immature things on very rare occasions?

I guess it would depend on the context. But I doubt anybody is perfect enough to NEVER say anything stupid. We're humans.

You mean mature people as in... 'older' in age or people who act very mature despite their age?
Either way, it depends on the situation and also their mental awareness.
(are they a bit tipsy, maybe? Have they not slept all night? etc.)

Any person has the ability to say the dumbest things whether they be purely ignorant, something not based off of experience at all, a joke to lighten the mood or even something innocent like a simple observation that can be seen as an insult.

I guess what I'm getting at is: everyone is capable of saying something immature at some point or another. Some people act immature constantly-- and for some, it only comes out when they're not focusing on being completely level headed and mature at the moment.

I'm 33 and I say and do immature stuff all the time. Sometimes on purpose, other times it just happens. Wether I'm mature or not is for others to judge.
