I hate introducing myself

I was lucky when I was the new employee the manager who lead the meeting already knew I was shy so I didn't have to introduce myself at that meeting. She just introduced me to everyone and said we got a new staff member please let him feel welcome etc... So it wasn't too too bad. Thanks I might need it.

That was nice of her...it's a pleasant change when people are actually understanding :)

I usually just tell my name. Then they ask ''Well, tell us a little about yourself'' and then I ask ''What do you want to know?''.

I let them guide me through the conversation. ;3 It takes the awkward sting out of it.

Every Monday, my Government teacher makes us share what we did over the weekend to the class. Usually she picks volunteers but she looks at people who rarely participate in class (i.e. people like me) and picks on us. I hate it...

That's torture...I'm really sorry you have to do that :(

Yeah, I especially hate it on the first day of school when the teacher makes you introduce yourself by announcing random things about yourself to the class like "What's your favorite food?" or "What's your favorite color" and other nonsense like that. I really feel like most teachers enjoy seeing shy students like me get all flustered. It's really aggravating. I especially hate how when you feel all eyes on you, you struggle with your words and forget what you're going to say. That's what happened to me the last time, and I nearly passed out from the anxiety.

I recently started group therapy and you have to introduce yourself at the beginning every time and say goodbye at the end every time. It is pure torture for me and I absolutely hate it. If I didn't have to say anything I would be fine just sitting there listening to everybody, but having to speak in front of a large group freaks me out!!! I skipped the last meeting and I'm wondering how much more I can take it.

I once refused to say anything in this same situation. You have the right to say no. Especially if its to the point you are skipping it

Yeah, I've got to figure something out or else I'm not going to show up again.
